catherine-bell“I am SO thrilled that I found Wee Little Arts for my daughter! I have never seen any other art program that is so effective, so creative, so inspiring to young little artists…and so fun!

My daughter literally went from drawing very simple stick figures to being able to express her thoughts, feelings and real things in any medium she wants. She can paint, draw or sculpt people animals, flowers, buildings and anything else she wants either real or imagined. She explained to me one day that art could be anything you want it to be, that it didn’t have to look exactly like the thing, but that it could look how YOU want it to look! Now THAT is quite something for a 5 year old to say (and she learned it in Wee Little Arts!)

One of my favorite quotes is ‘A culture is only as great as its dreams and its dreams are dreamed by artists.‘ Well, with the artists that this program is helping to create and nurture and inspire… we have quite a culture and quite a future to look forward to!

Thanks Wee Little Arts (& Melissa!) for putting this program there. Now let’s get it into every school so every child can have it!”

Parent Testimonials

Melissa,
This is just a quick note to let you know how much Ella is enjoying Wee Little Arts at O’Quinn.  She looks forward to it all week and always has interesting things to share when she gets home.  Her bedroom walls are covered with her artwork and she is so proud to show it off to buddies and family.  Thank you for teaching her to love art and giving her the confidence that she can create a masterpiece just like the artists that you study.

Please keep up the good work.  Your enthusiasm and your commitment to children are second to none!

Student Testimonials

I loved taking Wee Little Arts because I love to paint. Not just flat but other things. My green lizard is one of my favorite toys cause I made it.

My mom loves the flowers I made and painted. My sister wants to make flowers too.

- Student: Max B.

In Wee Little Arts I enjoyed getting to do fun and creative projects. Each piece we worked on showed our individuality as there was no right or wrong way to draw or paint. I liked the fact that all of the work was on display for anyone to look at! Every time we do a project we have a book read to us about an artist whose work relates to the project we are working on. Whenever we finish a project we get our work matted so we can bring it home to show our families and friends. All the art teachers always have an enthusiastic humor that makes us laugh and want to do an art project right away!

Director Testimonials

As Director of First Presbyterian Church Preschool, I want to express our appreciation of the Wee Little Arts extra-curricular program at our preschool. The art is exciting and fun for the children here (ages 3-5), and they learn an appreciation of art as well as the process of art’s many genres. Miss Barbie inspires and encourages all the children, and their art products are phenomenal. Our hallways are always beautiful, colorful and bold, as parents and children walk through. I always hear parents expressing their amazement at the art displays. We love having Wee Little Arts as part of our program.

- Donna Buchanan, Director First Presbyterian Church Preschool

Ms. Barbie Brannock is our Wee Little Arts Teacher. I have come to know Ms. Barbie this school year. I am very impressed with the program she offers. The children are very excited to attend, Ms. Barbie keeps them engaged in conversations regarding the topic for the week as well as general conversation that the children are excited to talk with her about. She not only has a project for them to to work on but also teaches them about the method. The children love the books she brings along. The end results are amazing – all the children add their own individual touch and therefore all are a little different even though they are all working on the “same project” Thank you Ms. Barbie.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. — Pablo Picasso
